Well this week was a fairly solid effort, hitting nearly all the key sessions successfully. The highlight of my training week was a great 5k TT on Wednesday. My previous best time this year was a 20:05. I went out and smashed that with a 19:50, in windy conditions too! I was very happy with an avg pace of 3:58 and a new V-Dot of 50.3. So work works!
I rode with the RW crew yesterday in fine and cold conditions. Well I say I rode with the crew, but in reality, it was just Butch and I. We planned to do Kings Park super figure 8's - but the rest of the gang were as soft as marshmallows and just spun around the river on the old boring route...very soft! So Butch and I did 3 and 1/2 super 8's (includes Mount St) on our own. We did see Doucas and Jo briefly, so a special mention to those guys for havin a crack! We also saw PJ, going the other way, ridin with his other mates in Kings Park.
A non-training highlight was finally using last years birthday present - a gift voucher for "Flight Experience" - a 737 flight simulator. It was awesome. I did several take offs and landings at old Hong Kong airport and then at Innsbruck in Austria. It was really hard and an intense 60min. I didn't crash once and even landed all by myself the last time with barely a word from my co-pilot! I was drained at the end of it! Highly recommended to anyone...
So weekly totals were:
Ride : 115km
Run : 39km
Total Time : 7:15hrs
I'm off to the footy this arvo for the commerative match against the Tigers to mark the 25th anniversary of WCE 1st game. GO THE MIGHTY EAGLES!
